Lonely Planet is a romantic drama film written and directed by Susannah Grant. The Netflix film follows the story of a reclusive novelist on a prestigious writer’s retreat in Morocco trying to overcome her writer’s block. She soon meets a young man, and they begin to fall for each other.
Lonely Planet stars Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth in the lead roles with Diana Silvers, Younès Boucif, Adriano Giannini, and Rachida Brakni starring in supporting roles.
If you’ve streamed “Lonely Planet” on Netflix and are still in the mood for more romance, here are seven more movies that should satisfy your streaming craving a little better.
5. Leap Year

Leap Year is a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Anand Tucker from a screenplay co-written by Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan.
The 2010 film follows the story of Anna Brady, a young woman who decides to travel to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on a leap day, but on her journey, she comes across many problems and a charming man. Leap Year stars Amy Adams, Matthew Goode, Adam Scott, and John Lithgow.
4. Good Luck to You, Leo Grande

Sophie Hyde’s “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” is a spicier watch than “Lonely Planet”, but it’s far more than an age-gap sex comedy; it’s a moving, emotional, and utterly charming watch.
The movie revolves around Nancy Stoks (Emma Thompson), a retired teacher who hires male sex worker Leo Grande (Daryl McCormack) in an effort to finally have fulfilling sex following the death of her husband two years ago.
3. Home Again

Home Again is a romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer. The 2017 film follows the story of Alice, a recently divorced woman who lets three aspiring young filmmakers stay in her guesthouse but soon begins to develop feelings towards one of them but when her ex-husband comes back into her life, it gets complicated.
Home Again stars Reese Witherspoon, Nat Wolff, Jon Rudnitsky, Pico Alexander, Lake Bell, Reid Scott, Dolly Wells, Michael Sheen, Candice Bergen, and Jen Kirkman.
2. The Idea of You

Earlier this year, Prime Video dropped a starry romantic comedy-drama: Michael Showalter’s “The Idea of You”, and having streamed both, I’d rather watch Solène’s love story, myself.
Based on Robinne Lee’s novel of the same name, “The Idea of You” sees 40-year-old single mother and LA art gallery owner, Solène Marchand (Anne Hathaway) taking her daughter to Coachella so she can meet her fave boyband, August Moon.
There, Solène inadvertently crosses paths with August Moon’s 24-year-old frontman, Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), and the pair soon strike up a connection… one with plenty of challenges their way.
1. Fly Me to the Moon

It might feel like a bit of a left-field recommendation to start, but with a compelling, if far-fetched, central story and likable leads (especially Scarlett Johansson), I think “Fly Me to the Moon” is a recently-released romance more worthy of your time, in my humble opinion.
The Greg Berlanti movie revolves around marketing specialist Kelly Jones (Johansson) and NASA launch director, Cole Davis (Channing Tatum), who reluctantly work together to shoot a fake movie landing to appease the public in case the real Apollo 11 mission goes wrong.
